Hello World

Dear Hiring Manager,

Every memorable event is the result of countless details coming together behind the scenes. That’s what excites me most about the events industry, and it’s why I’m reaching out to introduce myself.

My name is Ethan Nortje, and I recently completed my Marketing Communications course at AAA School of Advertising. I’m also expanding my knowledge through an online Digital Marketing course because I believe the strongest events combine exceptional experiences with effective marketing.

I’m writing to express my interest in any opportunity within your company, whether as an Events Intern, Events Assistant, Junior Event Coordinator, or in any entry-level role where I can learn, contribute, and grow alongside your team.

While working at a busy bar, I regularly helped ensure that the events hosted at the venue ran smoothly by supporting operations, assisting customers, adapting to fast-changing situations, and helping create a positive experience for guests. That experience taught me how much preparation, teamwork, communication and attention to detail are required to deliver a successful event, even when guests only see the finished product.

Alongside this, I’ve developed skills in digital marketing strategy, content strategy and sales, and I’m confident using Canva and CapCut to create engaging content. I enjoy thinking about how events are marketed before they happen, how they can create memorable experiences on the day, and how content captured afterwards can continue building a brand long after the event has ended.

What I may lack in years of industry experience, I make up for with curiosity, initiative and a genuine desire to learn. I’m someone who enjoys being busy, takes ownership of my work, and is always looking for ways to improve. Whether it’s helping with event planning, setup, logistics, guest management, supplier coordination, marketing or simply supporting wherever needed, I’m eager to contribute in any way I can.

I’m looking for a full-time opportunity, a paid internship, or any role that allows me to build a long-term career in the events industry. If there isn’t a suitable opening at the moment, I would still be incredibly grateful for the opportunity to visit your office, introduce myself in person, hand over my CV and learn more about your team. Even a brief conversation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my email and consider my application. I appreciate that your team receives many enquiries, and I would genuinely value the opportunity to demonstrate the enthusiasm, professionalism and work ethic I would bring to your company.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,

Ethan Nortje
